PICK

A nikkei cevichería that is all counter, a dozen seats in Miraflores a few blocks off Parque Kennedy, serving ceviche mixto and crisp calamari. It moved here from its old Surquillo room in 2025 and runs from late morning into the afternoon, cash only, with a wait on weekends.

Worth the weekend wait, and now a short walk from Parque Kennedy.

Canta Rana

PICKCLASSIC

A Barranco institution since the late 1980s: no-nonsense ceviche mixto in a small room that is always crowded. It is open every day and serves into the evening, but ceviche is a lunch dish here and the room fills early; it leans cash, so bring soles.

Nearly forty years of ceviche in a room that never empties.

Carnaval

The theatrical cocktail bar Aaron Díaz founded in San Isidro, the first Peruvian bar to make the World's 50 Best list; Díaz moved on in 2026 and the bar carries on without him. A destination in itself, and worth the trip to the financial district.

Do & wander

The clifftop malecón, a pyramid inside Miraflores, the bridge down to the beach, and the surf below the cliffs.

The clifftop chain of parks, Parque del Amor, Parque Salazar and Parque Raimondi, joined by a path from Miraflores to Barranco, with the Circuito de Playas and a bike path down at sea level. Paragliders launch from Parque Raimondi. It costs nothing, and Sunday is the day to walk it.

Free, and the Sunday version is the one to do.

Puente de los Suspiros and the Bajada de los Baños

Barranco's 1876 bridge and the promenade that drops from it down to the beach. In the evening the anticucho and picarones carts set up along the way, and the carts are cash.
